Welcome to the Temple Bar

Temples are usually quiet, reverential, sombre places. But not this one. The Temple Bar is a buzzing spot on the busy Western Road that’s great moving your evening up through the gears. Though there is a quieter area up the stairs at the back that leads through to the bijoux smoking terrace.

It’s in the summer, though, that the Temple really comes into its own, as the French windows are opened out onto the street and the place gains a continental feel – with the added bonus of having proper beer to drink.

Oh, and the walls are decorated with maps – for when you can’t find your way home.

Discover our locally brewed Sussex Ales

If there is reverence at the Temple Bar, it’s for cask beer.

Every ale we serve is from a local Sussex brewer, and the choice changes with the seasons.

Can't decide? Just ask our knowledgeable staff!

Check out the tasting notes or ask one of our helpful, knowledgeable barstaff. They’ll even give you sample to try.

Most importantly, we’re proud of our ales and you can be sure that whichever one you choose will be in perfect condition and give you a true taste of Sussex.
